What We Treat

What is a Substance Use Disorder?

Substance use disorders are a class of diagnoses that health professionals use to describe individuals struggling with drugs or alcohol. Substance use disorders can look different from person to person, including the number of symptoms that a person experiences. As a result, when a person is given a substance use disorder diagnosis, they are given a specifier mild, moderate, or severe, which is based on the number of symptoms that an individual presents with.
New Beginnings Recovery Center offers substance abuse and mental health treatment in the San Fernando Valley area. We offer a variety of addiction outpatient treatment programs, including mental health treatment. To learn more about the services available at ARTS IOP, we invite you to call today.

Substance Abuse Treatment

Substance abuse affects millions in the U.S., often alongside mental health issues. Common substances include alcohol, marijuana, opioids, cocaine, meth, and prescription drugs.
Signs of addiction include loss of control over use, neglecting responsibilities and relationships, physical changes or health issues, and mood swings such as irritability or paranoia.
Treatment Options:

  • Inpatient: Full-day residential care.
  • Partial Hospitalization (PHP): Intensive outpatient care.
  • Intensive Outpatient (IOP): 9–12 hours/week group therapy.
  • Routine Outpatient: Individual or group therapy.
  • Dual-Diagnosis & MAT: For co-occurring mental health conditions.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment

Treating only the symptoms of substance use disorder may provide temporary relief, but addressing the root causes is essential for long-term recovery. When a mental health condition co-occurs with drug or alcohol addiction, evidence-based dual diagnosis treatment from experienced professionals is crucial.
New Beginnings Recovery Center treats addictions like alcohol, opioids, and marijuana, and mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder.
New Beginnings Recovery Center offers flexible outpatient care with three levels:

  • Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP): Full-day treatment including individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and MAT.
  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): 15 hours per week focusing on recovery skills and managing cravings.
  • Routine Outpatient Care: For clients with supportive environments, focusing on long-term wellness and coping strategies.
